Dell Latitude E7240 and Latitude E7440 Ultrabooks unveiled

Dell adds two new ultrabooks, Latitude E7240 and Latitude E7440,  to the 7000 series laptops. The ultrabooks are 12 inches and 14 inches respectively. Both the laptops features Intel 4th generation Haswell processors.

These are business class laptops with sturdy built and swapable batteries. The users are provided with a manual using which they can access memory and other components. Both the laptops comes installed with Windows 8 pro operating systems. The devices are expected to start shipping on 28th August 2013.

The 12 inch Latitude E 7240 has a starting price of $1169. The display offers 1366 x 768 pixels resolution. A 12.5” FHD (1920×1080) Touch version will be coming in the future. Latitude E7240  is powered using a 1.7 GHz 4th generation Intel core i3-4010U  processor(3M cache) with 4 GB RAM.  128GB Solid State hard drive becomes the storage of the device.

Latitude E7240 weighs 2.99 pounds, and measures 310.5mm Wide x 20.0mm high and 211.0mm deep in dimensions. Connectivity options includes 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet, 802.11b/g/n WiFi and there is no bluetooth.  Ports and slots in the device includes Network connector (RJ-45), USB 3.0 (3), Stereo headphone/Microphone combo jack, Docking Connector, mDisplayPort, HDMI, 1 Full and 2 Half Mini Card Slots.

A a 31Whr battery is used in this 12 inch ultrabook. According to the product page at Dell for Latitude E7240, a future model will feature a  12.5” FHD (1920×1080) Touch display, WiMAX, HSPA+ and LTE mobile broadband, and a 42Whr battery,

The specifications and features of Latitude E7440 are much identical to that of Latitude E7440 with the exception of wider 14 inch display, a bigger 34Whr battery, and a slightly lower price tag of $1049.

The device you get for the above price will feature Core i3-4010U processor, 4GB of RAM, 320 GB Hard drive, 14 inch display with 1366 x 768 pixels resolution and 34Whr battery. It weighs 3.6 pounds. The product page of the device however does not mention about any SSD for the laptop.
